As a traditional fish and chips restaurant, it follows time tested cooking methods while remaining attentive to modern dietary needs. The setting is informal and friendly, making it easy for customers to feel comfortable whether they are grabbing a quick lunch or enjoying a relaxed evening meal after a walk along the harbor.

The business is often praised for its dependable service. Many returning customers note the familiarity of the staff and the sense that every order is handled with care. This consistency is a key reason why D. Fecci and Sons continues to stand out in a town known for good food.

Fish and chips done the right way

At the heart of D. Fecci and Sons is its approach to fish and chips. Fresh fish is coated in a light batter and cooked until golden, producing a crisp exterior and tender flakes inside. Chips are thick cut, fluffy on the inside, and fried to a satisfying finish. The balance between fish, chips, and seasoning shows an understanding of what makes this dish a national favorite.

Popular choices include regular fish and chips for a balanced meal and large fish and chips for those with a bigger appetite. Haddock and chips and plaice and chips offer variety while staying true to traditional flavors. Customers who enjoy added richness often choose fish and chips with curry sauce or mushy peas, both of which complement the meal without overpowering it.

Menu variety for all tastes

While fish and chips remain the foundation, the menu at D. Fecci and Sons extends well beyond a single dish. Battered sausage and chips is a favorite among those seeking comfort food, while fish cake and chips adds a different texture and flavor profile. Nuggets con patatas and patatas fritas appeal to younger diners or anyone looking for something familiar and simple.

Sweet options also play a role in the experience. Deep fried creme eggs and even the much talked about deep fried Mars bars bring a playful indulgence to the menu. These treats have become a memorable part of many visits and are often mentioned with enthusiasm in customer feedback.

Hot drinks such as a latte are available as well, offering a warm pause during cooler coastal days and rounding out the overall offering.

Thoughtful options for dietary needs

One of the strengths of D. Fecci and Sons is its attention to customers with specific dietary requirements. Gluten free chips and curry sauce are prepared with care, and coeliac fish and chips are available for those who need added reassurance. These options allow more people to enjoy a traditional meal without concern, reflecting a genuine commitment to inclusivity.

This focus on dietary awareness builds trust and shows an understanding of modern expectations, especially in a busy tourist town where visitors may rely on clear and reliable food choices.

Service that shapes the experience

Reviews often highlight the friendly nature of the staff and the welcoming tone of the restaurant. Many customers describe the service as warm and efficient, contributing to a relaxed dining experience. Praise is frequently given for the quality of the food, with mentions of excellent chips, jumbo sausages, and flavorful curry sauce.

Like any popular establishment, feedback can vary. Some diners have noted differences in portion sizes at times, yet the overall impression remains positive. The combination of good prices, approachable staff, and satisfying meals continues to draw repeat visits.

What customers say about us

Andrea Valentini

Good fish and chips with especially crunchy batter. I had the gluten free cod and chips, the fish is quite large and big portion of chips. Staff on the counter was not friendly, had some sort of moody attitude. The furnishing is quite old and overall the place looks like it hasn't changed since a long time. When I visited, the counter on the left was for takeaway orders only. This was not made clear from any signage or the staff taking the order, and we had to pay a surcharge to sit down, which was £1.5 per person bringing the total for 2x regular cod and chips to £29, which is on the pricy side, at the end of the day is just fish and chips in an outdated setting.

Jody Bunting

Best fish and chip shop in Tenby. Outstanding service from the old man owner when you walk in. Mobility, disabled and wheelchair friendly (this is so hard to find in the town!). Big restaurant with good free WiFi. Everything is freshly cooked and the taste was outstanding.

The food was very good! Loved the skin on cod. We had the light batter which was great and didn’t leave that stodgy feeling. Staff were very accommodating to our strange requests.

Osman Raidhan

Caters to halal dietary requirements which is excellent! We had cod and the batter was so delicious, a huge portion of chips to go with it. The staff are super friendly and kind. Definitely will be coming back here again

Michal Babel

Absolutely gem of a place. Both take away and sit down available. Full gluten free options available including chips, fish and sauces! Both gluten free and regular fish and chips were fabulous, so many chips, haven't eaten all but managed all of the fish Parking nearby at PAD parking (£4/4 hours min). Very welcoming and tidy. Thank you!
